Can Tests Detect Heart Disease

Tuesday, March 9, 2010
posted by Bill J 7:38 AM

In a Parade Magazine article by Dr. Rant Mishori, ” Can New Tests Predict Heart Disease?”,it was stressed that something called a Risk Score has been used to determine ones risk of having heart disease. Various data is used, like age, sex, cholesterol level, blood pressure, diabetes status, and smoking history. From that information, they derive your Risk Score; the likelihood you will have heart disease within the next ten years.

Scientists now have discovered that several new blood tests, called cardiac biomarkers, will take readings of the various substances that travel in the bloodstream, which in turn may accurately predict ones risk of heart disease. If the person’s cardiac biomarkers are elevated, that may indicate that the subject has the presence of heart and vascular disease.

Many doctors who want to make sure that their patients are out of risk from heart disease, stroke, and sudden death, are ordering some of these tests.Consider discussing this with your doctor for further advice.

Our galaxy, the Milky Way, is one of many galaxies that exist. Our solar system is a very tiny part of this immense area in space. We will share just a few tidbits about the Milky Way that will hopefully get you looking for more!

Our huge sun is actually a star that is one of more than 100 billion stars in our galaxy. There are maybe 200 billion, billion stars in the known universe. It takes light, which travels at 186,000 miles per second, 100,000 years to travel the Milky Way. Now that’s big!!

The star nearest to earth, besides our sun, is Proxima Centauri, which is 4.28 light years away. Light travels 5,880,000,000,000  miles in one year! The sun is approximately 93 million miles from the earth. It takes the light 8 minutes and 20 seconds to reach us. Our sun’s surface temperature is about 10,000 degrees farenheit and 27,000,000 degrees at it’s center.

Astronomy is really amazing with facts that make one believe that only a great and awesome God could create such splendor. Take some time to gather more facts about our universe and send them in to us for sharing.

For a fantastic energy boost as well as other health helps, take daily omega berry or omega berry fish oil, for added heart health.

Today it is a pleasure to pass on some of the advice, called Sage Advice, from Abraham Lincoln. These nuggets are timeless; as true today as they were in President Lincoln’s era.

You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.

You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.

You cannot help little men by tearing down big men.

You cannot help the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer.

You cannot further brotherhood of man by encouraging class hatred.

You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.

You cannot establish sound security on borrowed money.

You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than you earn.

You cannot build character and courage by taking away men’s initiative & independence.

You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves.

These words are very fitting for today and should be followed by each of us, especially adhered to by our elected government  officials. Pass this on to any that you feel would help make a difference.

Maqui Berry is a very high antioxidant supplement that helps promote better health. Read all about this in the link to our website that gives more information on it.

We are back with some more sayings, advice, and quotes to enjoy. Take time for an omegaberry supplement that is great for better overall health.

There are three types of people; those who make things happen, those who watch things happen, and those who wonder what            happened.

Most of us will never do great things, but we can do small things in a great way.

“When we seek to discover the best in others, we somehow bring out the best in ourselves.”  William Arthur Ward

Some cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go!

” Do you want to know how to make God laugh? Tell Him your plans for the next year!!”    Ted Sprague

How many marriages would be better if the husband & wife realized that they are on the same side!

” We find in life exactly what we put into it.”     R.W. Emerson

That is a few more to absorb for now. Abe Lincoln comes here tomorrow. See you then…….

Here are some more sayings and quotes to ponder:

Success is a journey, not a destination. Success is getting up just one more time than you fall down.

” Let no feeling of discouragement prey upon you, and in the end you are sure to succeed.”  Abraham Lincoln

Doing your best is more important than being the best.  Your attitude determines your altitude.

“We generate fears while we sit; we overcome them by action. Fear is nature’s warning signal to get busy.”  Henry Link

” The world is full of willing people: some willing to work; the rest willing to let them.”  Robert Frost

All of us lose occasionally, but we’re never beat until we quit.  Success is a journey, not a destination.

Lastly, for today, on the desk of  President John F. Kennedy in the White House, a small plaque stated, ” Oh God, Thy sea is                       so great and my boat is so small.”

We have found an amazing brand of co-q10 by Dr. Sears that we highly recommend. Try some today and feel that extra stamina working within your body.

Mini Tips With Single Parenting

Each one of us has a lot to juggle within our daily schedules. Single parents have a tough time balancing their schedule to fit in the needs of family and work. Here are just a few pointers that may help, especially if you are a single parent.

Seek to work around your children’s schedule. Getting up an hour or two before them will help you have some time for many of the things you need to do.  If you are a night person, then reverse that to night time. Many parents are moving towards a work at home career choice. That way you can multi task to get some of the home things done on your breaks that are necessary.

Work up a list of what must be done each day, and what else you would like to get done, time permitting. Many of us loose oodles of time with e-mails from numerous people and businesses. Handle those briefly, and save the ones that aren’t a priority for early or later in the day. Try not to lose too much time with things that take your time away. Spend your time wisely so you will have family time as often as possible.

Teach your children good characteristics and invest time with them. For many people, like myself, a vitamin supplement is helpful to fill in the gaps of the vitamins and nutrients that we miss. Omega berry fish oil is one of the several that I take from Purity Products, a leader in quality supplements. Give yourself that extra support that your body needs today.

Ten Tips To Follow

When there are ways to enrich our lives, we should make the effort to just do them. Life goes faster the older we get, so incorporate some everyday habits that will help both you and your family.

Do something for someone else, maybe even without them knowing it. Count your blessings each day, thanking God for them. Keep in mind the true meaning of your life. Get some sort of daily exercise: walk, dance, get those workouts! Don’t harp on bad feelings: release those and talk with others as needed to clear up those issues. Seek harmony with those closest to you.

Have breakfast and dinner with your family. Make those times sacred. If you can’t do both, do at least one together daily. Read as often as you can. Don’t just veg out in front of the television, read for at least a brief time-frame. Observe and enjoy nature around you. Each season has its own beauty. Catch a sunrise and sunset on occasion.

Take time to catch up with someone. Call, write, or visit as you can. Don’t be isolated continually or just doing work and home. Hug and kiss ones in your family. Tell them you love them. Make the most of your daily opportunities. Get involved within your sphere of influence. Make a contribution to the world.

For great health benefits, take co-q10 daily. Increased energy, weight loss help, cell protection, cardiovascular health, neurological health, and an improved metabolism, are some of the benefits you could be receiving.

Be An Optimist

In our high stress, fast paced world of today, it seems all to easy to be somewhat pessimistic. How we view things can have a big impact on our life. Looking at the good, instead of what isn’t so good, will help you to be more optimistic. Life isn’t always fair, but it   is good.

Take time to smell the roses; time for yourself. Don’t compare your life to others; be happy with where you are. Norman Vincent Peale said, ” you aren’t what you think you are, but, what you think, you are.” So true; only you can make yourself a positive person. No one else can force you to be!

Have a sense of humor and use it often, looking for the lighter side of things. Most children we see are normally happy, maybe because they don’t have all of our responsibilities. Seek to be childlike in that sense; to not let it all get to you. Buoy up!!

If I can put a smile on my face then choose to be an optimist, even when the days are difficult, then I help make my life more joyous indeed. Try it for yourself!!

For one of the best supplements on the planet, obtain some co-q10 by Dr. Sears. You will never ask if you are taking the wrong coq10 if you are taking his.  His winning formula will help you propel forward throughout your very busy days.

Boost Your Brain

In an AARP article in March, they stated that with a few easy changes, you can stay at your sharpest. That is something we each want! How does ones brain continue to function efficiently despite the changes that occur as one ages? Many researchers called this ” cognitive reserve”; the combination of a person’s innate abilities and the additional brainpower that comes from challenging the mind.

“Studies have shown that diverse, mentally stimulating tasks result in more brain cells, more robust connections among those cells, plus a greater ability to bypass age- or disease- related trouble spots in the brain. The more you work your mind, the greater your cognitive researve.  And the greater your reserve, the greater your ability to withstand the inevitable challenges of aging.”

Recent discoveries are offering new hope with guidance for people who want to maintain peak brain performance. We will conclude our blog tomorrow, so come back at 8am or later to read on.  Get some awesome Maqui Berry today, for increased stamina, strength, and health. Read all about it on our linked website here now.

Raising levels of HDL cholesterol can lower your risk of heart disease plus improve cardiovascular health. With LDL cholesterol, the lower the better. People with a family history of heart disease and high cholesterol or people living an unhealthy lifestyle are most likely at a higher risk of a health related problem, such as stroke or heart attack.

To better your cholesterol levels, the American Medical Association recommends: we eat foods that are low in saturated fat, total fat, and cholesterol; avoid saturated fats and transfatty acids, found in fatty meats or the skin of poultry and higher fat dairy products; seek out good fats, like mono-unsaturated or poly-unsaturated fats; consume foods high in starch and fiber, like fruits, vegetables, cereals, whole grain breads, pasta, or beans; get regular exercise and fitness; maintain a healthy weight that is doctor approved; plus don’t smoke or drink excess alcohol.

Lastly, see your doctor for an annual check-up or also as needed. Follow their advise, plus set goals to be where you want to be, then follow your plan. Take coq10 for great health help.
