Seek A Positive Lifestyle

Monday, March 8, 2010
posted by Bill J 7:09 AM

We need to look at the good and positive things more than the negative aspects that happen in our day to day living. If we count our blessings instead of our setbacks, then our days run more smoothly.

A great saying by Abraham Lincoln said that if we look for the bad in people, surely we will find it. As we keep busy, with a positive attitude, then the benefits will follow. Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “what lies behind us and what lies before us are small matters compared to what lies within us.”

We need to lose ourselves in something bigger than ourselves. ” The more you lose yourself in something bigger than yourself, the more energy you will have,” stated Norman Vincent Peale. Have a passion in life with what you do, for that is energy. Oprah said, ” feel the power that comes from focusing on what excites you.”

There are times in many of our lives, where we aren’t entirely happy with our weight. It is so easy to put on a few pounds as our active lifestyle gets us behind in keeping fit. Blending together exercise with healthy weight loss products, like Maqui Superberry or Botanics Choice, will assist you in getting back to where you want to be. Check it out here on our link then give it a try. You will be glad that you did.

George Bernard Shaw said, ” Life is no brief candle to me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I got hold of for the moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations.”

H.G. Wells said ” man must not allow the clock and the calendar to bind him to the fact that each moment of this life is a miracle and a mystery.”

Henry Ford stated that life was a series of experiences with each one making us bigger and better, even though we may not realize it at the time.

Be careful whom you hang around with: bad company corrupts good morals.

As St. Francis prayed, so should we. ” Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace; where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy.

It’s easy to focus on what’s bad in our situation, but seek to focus on the positive. For positive results with healthy weight loss, consider trying Maqui Superberry or Nutrisystem. They have a track record of winning results.

Today it is a pleasure to pass on some of the advice, called Sage Advice, from Abraham Lincoln. These nuggets are timeless; as true today as they were in President Lincoln’s era.

You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.

You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.

You cannot help little men by tearing down big men.

You cannot help the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer.

You cannot further brotherhood of man by encouraging class hatred.

You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.

You cannot establish sound security on borrowed money.

You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than you earn.

You cannot build character and courage by taking away men’s initiative & independence.

You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves.

These words are very fitting for today and should be followed by each of us, especially adhered to by our elected government  officials. Pass this on to any that you feel would help make a difference.

In many of the tests that were run on how to keep ones brain strong, it was unanimous that we need to challenge ourselves; exercise our brains to be regularly active, not idle. The people who didn’t smoke, that exercised, worked or volunteered, lived with at least one other, and were educated with at least a high school education, plus who limited their alcohol intake, were more likely to have no decline in mental performance.

Living an active lifestyle, not being a couch potato, is your best chance for staying sharp. Some helpful activities for brain boosting, as summed up by the AARP article in their March/ April issue are to walk and talk with a partner, to vary your regular routine, trying new things, and to be a lifelong learner. Mark Twain had said that life was his classroom! Also play some games that challenge yourself; do crossword puzzles too. Get a pet to walk with or to enjoy. Take time to de-stress where you can focus your mind and relax. Find a way to reduce your stress level. Use your imagination: think like a child at times, and laugh often. Visit new websites. Socialize at parties; don’t be a loaner. Get active in a good church then meet new people there.

Talk with your doctor regularly. Guard your health. Eat right/ healthy. Be on a heart healthy diet, but occasionally treat yourself to a special meal or dessert. Beware of gimmicks that are out on the market that tell how you can build brainpower. If you do some of the things we talked about, you should notice a difference.

Keep fit with Landice Treadmills. Exercise and fitness done regularly will help your overall health, brainpower, and weight control.

In a recent Baltimore Sunpapers article, Amina Khan spoke about how numerous parents have been blamed for their children’s obese condition. Over the past several decades, there has been a dramatic increase of childhood obesity. Does the blame fall on the parents?

While there have been cases of a gene disorder where a hormone that controls ones appetite is missing, it is true that the parents can greatly help in their children’s overall diet. Many factors are involved, so she stated that you can’t give a clear cut yes, it’s the parents fault. For cases where the childs obesity is not the fault of their hormones, parents should make sure that they are helping their own children make wise decisions on a heart healthy diet. Serving healthy meals and snacks, helping them keep active, getting needed exercise each day, and proper sleep, are some of the things that parents can do to help their family.

Choose to help your child be at, or close to, their normal weight. Get their doctors advice on measures you can take, plus only keep healthy foods in your home, if eating too much of the wrong thing is a problem. For getting exercise, sports programs and keeping your child active, are key. Consider home gyms for constant workouts in the comforts of your home. Horizon Treadmills are great for programing fun fitness workouts. Every family member can take turns using your home exercise equipment.
