Ask questions: be curious. Always measure people by their hearts, not their bank account or what they own. Be positive and enthusiastic, and seek to have similar friendships. Spend time with your kids but don’t always spoil them. Forgive; don’t carry grudges. Be respectful of others. Life is your classroom; commit to constant improvement. Don’t answer the phone during meal time or important moments. Learn from your mistakes, but don’t let them defeat you. Be easy on yourself. Guard your health; try preventative medicine such as healthy eating and some daily exercise of some sort.
Seek to win; be a good winner and a gracious loser. Praise in public but criticise in private. Keep good company; bad company corrupts good morals. Keep your promises. Look for the good in people; if you only look for the bad, surely you’ll find it. Tip by performance. Teach your children the value of money and how to save. Develop traditions within your family. Feed the birds. Don’t litter plus pick up litter when and where you can. Don’t think too highly of yourself. Pride comes before a fall. Don’t nag, gamble, or gossip. Go outside and look at the stars on occasion. Watch a sunrise or sunset every so often. Money doesn’t give happiness. Get to know your Maker and develop a relationship with Him. Give thanks daily. Be the happy Muppet, not the one that is always grumpy.

We are back looking at more tidbits from my journals list. Teach your children how to work for some of the things they want, plus helping them care about others. Never invest more in the stock market then you can afford to lose. Be cautious of any get rich quick plans. Keep flowers or a beautiful plant in your kitchen. Do something nice for someone in secret or to someone who can’t repay. Tell you kids how terrific they are and that you trust them: build them up constantly. For every negative you say to them, build them up with ten positives. Try to take a brisk walk daily or get some form of exercise.
Learn to smile more often. Go on a nature walk occasionally. We have two ears and one mouth; listen more then you talk. Read through the Bible in a year. When anybody tells you a story or event that happened, never try to top it with your own. Seek personal health and try to be on a heart healthy diet. Work at maintaining healthy relationships. When playing games with children, let them win often. Talk at dinner; don’t have the television on with family at the table, except on a rare occasion. Try bowling with your family or friends. Be thankful for your blessings; the teachers who taught you, the schools that graduated you, and for the country you live in. Never badmouth those. Strive for excellence.

Live as a person of integrity, so your children see truthfulness, caring, and fairness firsthand. Avoid sarcasm.

God can turn the destruction from life’s storms into good. Trust in Him to accomplish all He will as you yield to Him. He really does care for you!

Whether you bike from home around your neighborhood, on a trail, at a park, or on the road, biking is an excellent form of exercise that improves your health fitness. When we go to the beach, usually Ocean City, we rent a surrey type bike that seats up to five or six, then we bike up and down the boardwalk. Luckily it is wide enough that we don’t hurt anybody. Most of the oceans salt was carried down from land, most likely. Once in the ocean, the salt is there to stay. As some water evaporates from the ocean, the salt stays behind.

Have you ever run in a circle with your head on a bat or just run in a circle until you felt dizzy? Most of us did, whether we do remember it or not. We would fall down with our head spinning, look up at the sky while it was moving around, then laugh about that experience.

A charlie horse is a painful cramp that you get in your leg, feet, or hand usually. The name may have originated from a horse named Charlie in Chicago in the 1800’s.
