Heart Healthy Diet

breakfast-kid1Please don’t let the word diet in the articles title scare you; here it means eating. People hate the ‘d’ word; diet; because no-one actually wants to be on one. In my article, we are reviewing the what, how, and why areas of eating for health. What we eat on a regular basis does matter, as we’ve stressed in the past, so let’s spend a few days going over this topic.

What you eat does affect your risks of certain health conditions, like heart disease, being overweight, diabetes, bad circulation, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, among many others too. Heart disease is ranked as the number one cause of death of American men and women. With heart disease, a fatty substance called plaque builds up in ones arteries. Over time this buildup causes ones arteries to narrow and harden, impeding their blood flow ultimately to their heart. If the heart does not receive the blood it needs to work properly, the result can be chest pain or heart attack. Strokes can also occur when a blood vessel bringing blood to ones brain becomes blocked. Fatty deposits lining the artery walls are the underlying condition for many blockages.

Most foods that you buy have a Nutrition Facts Label on them. Learn what kinds of ingredients are okay and what are the ones to steer clear of. We’ll go into more detail over the next few days.

laurel-and-hardyThe old saying, ‘ an apple a day keeps the doctor away,’ can also apply to laughing each day. To laugh, and be a bit like a child, will be beneficial to your health. Watch an old comedy movie like Abbott and Costello or Laurel and Hardy. Some people even have some fun watching the Three Stooges or the Little Rascals.

For now, let me add in a few more humorous anecdotes:

A not so smart individual called the airline to ask how long a flight would take from San Francisco to New York City. The agent replied, ‘ just a minute;’ whereupon the person said, ‘ thank you,’ then hung up.

Two Mexican detectives were investigating the murder of Juan Gonzalez. One detective asked the other,’ how was he killed?’ The other detective said, ‘; with a golf gun.’ The first detective asked,’ what’s a golf gun?’  The other detective said,’ I don’t know, but it sure made a hole in Juan.’

A sign outside a Police Station said, ” Police Station Toilet Stolen; Cops have nothing to go on.”  A rubber band pistol was confiscated from algebra class because it was a weapon of math destruction. The roundest knight at King Arthur’s round table was Sir Cumference. He acquired his size from too much Pi.

The butcher backed into his meat grinder and got a little behind in his work! No matter how much you push the envelope, it will still be stationery.

Remember to keep your sense of humor even in the tough times. Grab an old Henny Youngman CD for some terrific one liners, like he flew his own plane for two years, then the rubber band broke. For more fun while you listen, why not try your workouts with    TKO  medicine balls or exercise balls, to spice up your fitness workouts plus in attaining healthy weight loss.

kids-funWhen we laugh each day, our health is helped because a happy continence is beneficial. The world can deal to us a lot of stress on a regular basis, so mixing in a bit of humor can really brighten up your day. Looking at the lighter side of life takes some effort, but if you have a humor journal or even a folder with some saved comics that are amusing, you can open that up as needed to be a very helpful fuel for your body.

A few moments ago, I stumbled on an e-mail that I had saved with a few funny quips. Let me share several right now: A reporter asked a 104 year old woman what she thought  the best thing about being age 104 was, to which she replied, ” no peer pressure!”                                                                                                       A senior  stated to a visitor, ” I’ve sure gotten old! I’ve had two bypass surgeries, a hip replacement, new knees, diabetes, I take two dozen prescriptions and medications that make me dizzy, winded, and subject to blackouts; I have poor circulation, and hardly feel my hands or feet anymore; I’ve lost all of my friends and can’t remember if I am age 89 or 98; but thankfully I still have my drivers license!”

A doctor examining a woman who had been rushed to the emergency room, took the husband aside and said, ” I don’t like the looks of your wife at all.” The Husband said, ” me neither doc, but she’s a great cook and good with the kids.”

The judge at a divorce court said, ” Mr. Clark, I have reviewed this case very carefully, and I’ve decided to give your wife $225 a week.” The husband said,” that’s very fair, your honor: I’ll try to send her a few bucks each week myself.”

Humor is great medicine. Feeling your best is too. Try Dr. Sears coq10, Maqui Berry products, or some of Purity Products terrific vitamins and supplements. Omegaberry is very helpful for better health in your active lifestyle.

model-5Yes, physical activity and an active lifestyle can improve your health plus lower your risk of an early death. Regular workouts can also lower your risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke, wrong cholesterol levels, cancer, type 2 diabetes, plus other health related conditions.

Consistent exercise and fitness can help prevent unhealthy weight gain or help with heart healthy weight loss. Being overweight increases your risk for many serious diseases. Your heart will greatly benefit as you exercise regularly. Set some goals to get at least 20 to 30 minutes of exercise and fitness daily. Vary your fitness workouts as you want so as not to lose your momentum. For me walking is easy and can be done almost anywhere. Have some vigorous workouts in addition to your moderate exercise. Bicycling quickly, jogging/ running, tennis or racquetball, full court basketball, and similar exercises are vigorous.

Do some strength training/ bodybuilding workouts also, maybe every other day. Weight lifting, even with dumbells, push-ups, sit-ups, resistance bands, or home gyms can be a great source at least two times per week. For most, try to allow at least one day in between your bodybuilding workouts. Do some stretching exercises before and after workouts to improve flexibility and helppowertec2 you ward off injuries more readily.

marathon-kids-2This past Saturday, September 26th, was the start to Marathon Kids new program here in Baltimore,marathon-kids-logo Maryland. In the days of the all you can eat and fast food mentality, it is refreshing to witness plus take part in an awesome worthwhile program such as  Marathon Kids.

Kay Morris, the founder and executive director, states that all kids can be a Marathon Kids. This is a free running/ walking, nutrition, and schoolyard gardening program that promotes the development of a healthy and active lifestyle for each child. Over the course of the school year, each participating child will run or walk 26.2 miles, a marathon, in increments of 1/4 to 1/2 mile at a time. Marathon Kids is for kindergarten through fifth grade, elementary age- normally ages 5 to 11. It is hoped that an exercise and fitness mentality will root in to each child that partakes of this fun adventure.

Several sponsors help override the costs to make it free for participants. In Baltimore the kickoff celebration was at Western High School off Falls Road at Coldspring Lane. The current cities that are involved in Marathon Kids Programs are Austin, Dallas, Houston, Rio Grande Valley, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Baltimore. Now in its thirteenth year, Marathon Kids is stronger than ever with plans to continue expanding and growing.

Building right values and habits is key, especially into children. Parents need to take part and set goals towards healthiness for their entire family. If you live in one of these cities, have your children take part in this program. If you don’t, maybe work with Kay Morris to get the Marathon Kids program in your area.

Forgive And Forget- Part 2

kids-6One thing that my Mother used to say was to forgive and forget. Sometimes when I am wronged, that is easier said then done. There are some things that we can do to help us in our tougher situations, where forgiving just doesn’t seem like a right course of action.

Assume full responsibility for your unforgiving spirit. Don’t just bury your anger and resentment, but acknowledge it to yourself while realizing that you can’t change the other person, however you can change yourself. Oddly, the other person  may be fine with everything while you are harboring the unforgiveness. When you acknowledge to yourself that it is a problem, that is a great first step. Next, ask God for help and release the situation to Him. Really do that and He will help you. Confess it openly and honestly along with any bitterness or anger. God cares for you.

Also then pray for the individual who wronged you. Even though this is hard and may seem totally unwarranted, just do it. Make a deliberate choice to commit this all to God. If the bitter spirit crops up again, just give it to God, thanking Him that He is already working on your behalf in this. The past is past, vengeance should only be from God, and we can rest more peacefully in time, knowing that God is in control and He will help as you relinquish those hurdles to Him. Act like a young  child would with a loving spirit that easily forgets.

As we get regular exercise and fitness, we feel better, sleep better, have lower stress, and weight loss. Have a blast in your Bodyhorizon-treadmill-4 Solid Home Gyms or from our selection of  Horizon Treadmills  that we offer, all  at reduced prices and fast delivery right to you.

Forgive And Forget

thinkerHow many of us have someone do something to us, at some point in our lives, that gets our feathers ruffled? Do you ever get upset and hold a grudge against another person? That may hurt us more then the other person. One of the worst things we can do to ourselves is to develop an unforgiving spirit.

It really is difficult to give up the resentment plus what we think is our right to get even with one who has hurt us. Holding a grudge can develop into an unforgiving and bitter spirit. Unforgiveness has an enormous negative effect on us. That unhappiness and pent up hostility can work its way into our relationships that we have with family, friends, co-workers, and others we are in contact with each day.

Our lack of forgiving the other also can eat us up inside ourself. Who wants to hurt themself? Later today we will look at some positive ways to combat this. For right now, why not check out our large selection of discounted health books that we now offer through Health Product Ventures.

family-shot-2It was said that when life gives you one hundred reasons to cry, show life that you have one thousand reasons to smile. Keeping busy can have multiple benefits, especially that you won’t have as much time to wallow in pity or worries.

Albert Schweitzer said that he doesn’t know what anyones destiny will be, but one thing he did know is that the ones who would be  really happy have sought and found how to serve.  The pursuit of happiness is a ridiculous phrase; if you pursue happiness you will never find it. We need to be grateful plus learn to serve others to be truly happy.  Thinking of others is a great medicine.

To really be enjoying life to the fullest with awesome energy, sometimes we need some help from a proven source. For extra special nutritive healthiness, consider the many benefits of Maqui Superberry. Maqui helps increase your stamina, strength, and health. With a very high antioxidant level, Maqui Superberry will protect your body from free radicals, help with weight loss, and give you that extra needed boost of energy. Easy methods To Lose Weight

fashion-modelMost of us have occasions where we need to lose some weight. Maybe for you it’s an ongoing battle, but it doesn’t have to be. In an article by Emily Listfield titled ” Easy Ways To Lose Weight”, spotlighted in Parade Magazine,  her advise was to stop dieting. A lot of people always think diet when weight loss is needed, but consider some other methods first.

Numerous doctors say that small, realistic changes in how you eat can many times work out better for you then a drastic measure. Big changes may not work in the long run, but have an adverse effect. Losing weight is one thing, but keeping it off may occur more readily with smaller changes. Seek to eat at a level you are comfortable with and that you can stick with. Life is a marathon, not a sprint: diets may be your sprint, but develop a marathon mentality to get to then keep in shape.

If you set up unrealistic goals, you may burn out and then get back to the old lifestyle you originally had or even worse. Extend your timeframe, but stick to your goal. If you mess up on occasion( most people do), then get back on track. Blend in exercise and fitness, a continual heart healthy diet, plus a mindset towards healthiness. Reduce fat and sugar plus substitute mostly with healthier selections.

Many people have tried Dr. Sears co-q10 formula that is better then many brands that are in the marketplace, because his brandweight-loss-12 of coq10 goes directly to your cells where it is needed. The benefits are healthy weight loss, increased energy, improved metabolism, cell protection, and better cardiovascular health. Click on our link to learn more about Dr. Sears coq10 today. This is a great way to reach those goals that are important to you.

Kids Need Exercise

posted by Bill J 9:44 AM

kid-groupLast Sunday in Parade there was a great article explaining how kids need regular exercise in their lives just as adults do. With kids that seems to come easy, because they are always in play mode. The danger is in the foods we have available today plus the many activities that are possible, like television, computers, hand held games, and playstations, where exercise isn’t happening. This column was called “Early Exercise Pays Off,” by Michael O’Shea.

He stated that physical activity early in life may help protect kids from excessive fat gains later in childhood, even if their activity level drops off. At the University of Iowa, scientists studied 333 children, first at age 5, then again at age 8, then at age 11. They found that the more active the kids were when they were younger, the less body fat they had later on. The kids that were active for 60 minutes or more daily, were an average of 3.4 pounds lighter at age 11, then the ones who only exercised for 1o minutes or less daily.  Every additional 10 minutes of exercise at age 5 resulted in a third pound less of fat at age 11.

Small changes now could result in meaningful differences later, Dr. Janz stated. Get your young children active, to help themkids-81 reach the healthiness benefits now plus later on. Don’t wait until your kids are overweight to take action, but build in exercise and fitness as a way of life now. They have extra energy plus plenty of free time when they are younger!

For great energy as we get into our adult years, try incorporating coq10 into your nutritive daily supplement regime. Continue your fitness workouts, eat healthy, get needed sleep and rest, plus take Dr. Sears coq10/ co-q10 for heart health, extra energy, and numerous other benefits. Our link to our website offers his Accel and other top brands at special low pricing and a money back guarantee if you aren’t satisfied. Chances are, you will see the great benefits in taking coq 10.
