We seem to eat on the run regularly due to the many demands on our time. Family meals can take place if we plan e that some family members may not be at the table for long. We must make an effort to have healthy meals on an ongoing basis for feeling our best, for a consistent heart healthy diet, and healthy weight loss. Buy only those foods that are healthy, such as organic or less processed, and take the time for healthy eating each and every day.
A very important meal is breakfast, because you are breaking the fast, providing fuel for the body, and starting your day off right. Avoid the refined carbohydrates, like white bread and white sugar. Don’t resort to junk food, like donuts, but have a low fat proten item, like yogurt or skim milk. Also have some fresh fruitĀ or juice plus maybe a whole grain bread or cereal. Don’t overeat, but eat sensibly.
For a mid morning snack, if needed, eat some popcorn without butter, some almonds, a small low-fat yogurt cup, fresh fruit, or a healthy alternative. A low cal snack can help you stay focused and keep at it. Drink enough water to keep your body hydrated. By doing these things, your stress level should be lower while your day should run a bit smoother.
