runner-2In some past articles I have reviewed how antioxidants can work to help us protect our cells from free radicals and help us feel more energetic. In Sunday’s Parade, Michael O’Shea, who seems to be a contributor that I refer to a lot, wrote a fascinating article on ” Preventing Post-Workout Pain”.

Michael referred to tart cherry juice as being the next big sports drink ones consume. Research from the Oregon Health and Science University showed how runners who drank tart cherry juice prior to a long distance run, experienced less muscle pain after their running than those who only drank a placebo. The researchers stated that the difference could be attributed to the flavonoids and anthocyanins  with high antioxidant plus anti-inflammatory powers. Anthocyanins are found in blueberries, and other red fruits and vegetables.

Participants ranged in age from 18 to 50 and consumed 10.5 ounces of either tart cherry juice or a fruit drink twice daily for a week plus on their race day. Those who drank the tart cherry juice had a 23% lower self reported pain level, than those who drank the other drink. Actually, the tart cherry juice may help a multitude of people, even ones with fibromyalgia. Further studies will take place in the future to see if arthritis sufferers can be helped. More tests will be run, so stay tuned.

Today take a moment and try some amazing antioxidants  juice, or tablets, of Maqui or other products that we offer. Amazing results with healthy weight loss, increased strength, nutritive healthiness, and great fuel for the body. The wonderful health benefits received are many for the low cost of the product.
