new-food-pyramidBeing attuned to what it takes to be on a heart healthy diet is important if we want to feel our best. If we gorge on candy, cake, crackers, and other things that do not provide our body with proper nourishment, then our healthiness will suffer at some point. What we eat can have an affect on our risk of heart disease and also give us poor blood circulation. Since heart disease is the number one killer, we must be proactive in our active lifestyles.

Wholesome foods we eat can greatly help us to feel physically strong plus ready to seize the day. Each day eat a suitable blend of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, low fat milk products, fish or poultry, lean meats, beans, eggs, and nuts. Ask your doctor or check on line for an eating plan that is best for you. A few months back, we did an article on the food pyramid that can be helpful in what to eat each day.

Polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats are normally better for you then foods with saturated or trans fats. Limit the fatty meats, whole milk, ice cream, frozen yogurt, sherbet, pork, sausage, doughnuts, cakes, cookies, potato or corn chips, butter, hard margarine, or anything with added sugars. Limit anything with palm or coconut oil added. Eating too much of the wrong things can cause a plaque buildup in your arteries. Too much sodium intake can cause high blood pressure or hypertension. Eating too much sugar can lead to type 2 diabetes. Limit the eating of too many prepared foods in packages. Check out the nutrition facts label on anything you are thinking of buying, then limit the less healthy things you purchase.
