Many people are suffering through a loss of a loved one, or other ways in being lonely. With all of the excitement around Christmas, plus the shorter days in many parts of the world, numerous ones are feeling depressed or unhappy. Many have family and friends that can get together over the holidays, however many do not. Today and tomorrow we will look at some methods for overcoming the Christmas time blues. Many of these ideas can be used throughout the year!
Try to surround yourself with friends and family. If you have few or none that will work, attend a local church and visit the coffee hour before or after the service. Make some new acquaintances there. Volunteer at a hospital, church, or local organization. Reach out and help others, which will boost your negative feelings to a more positive attitude. It is amazing, but it does help you feel better about yourself as you help others.
