Since we all like to eat, and we all must eat to live, it seems wise to follow these common sense tips contained in this article plus the one earlier today. Practice portion control so as not to overeat. It does take a few minutes for our brain to catch up with our stomach, that we are full. Also many times when you feel hungry, your body may only need some water.
Eat fish three times per week, due to omefa 3’s that our bodies need for heart health. Omega 3 fish oil supplements can be taken daily, as I do, to help you get what you need. Carry healthy snacks with you, such as almonds or walnuts, yogurt, apple slices, peanut butter, low fat string cheese, or air popped popcorn. Pretzels aren’t a bad alternative. Read your labels, and be an informed buyer on what is healthy and safe. Work up a fitness plan to get those needed workouts. Have a special treat once in a while. Monitor your progress to reach your set goals. Make this new year the best one yet!
In a recent Parade Magazine article, they listed some rules that are key to healthy eating. Know how many calories you can eat per
day, then stay close to that. Eat 5 or 6 small meals each day. Getting too hungry causes a drop in your blood sugar, which can lead to binge eating. Keep snacks to around 200 calories each, including protein, carbs, and healthy fat. Eat 5 or 6 servings of fruits and vegetables every day.
Choose healthy carbs; whole grains, wheat bread, brown rice, etc. Reduce your intake of sugar, white flour, and alcohol. Switch from sugary, high calorie drinks and fruit juices.
