Osteoporosis is roughly a thinning of the bones due to calcium or bone minerals loss. According to a recent Parade article, not only many women suffer from this, but numerous men too. The National Osteoporosis Foundation estimated that at least two million men currently have the disease while millions more could be at risk.

It is estimated that 6% of all men over the age of  50 will experience a hip fracture while 5% will fracture a spinal bone, as a result of osteoporosis. It definitely helps to be aware of the dangers of certain medications you are taking. Also if you smoke, drink alcohol excessively, have kidney, lung, or intestines trouble, or are sedentary, you may be more at risk.

As a friend of mine always says, ” growing old isn’t for sissy’s.” Well said! Check with your doctor to see what they think. If you are worried about where you stand, or even how you stand, then get a bone-mineral density test.

When you are talking treadmills, one top quality macine to consider is from the  Bowflex Treadmills  family. They spare no expense in producing and distributing the best of treadmills for your exercise equipment for home.
