Healthy Behavior

With the fast pace of life, we seem to be running from one activity to another. Many times I find myself being short with people when my stress level is up. One book that I have treasured is George Washington’s Rules Of Civility and Decent Behaviour. Since most of us admire the first President of the USA, it is only fitting to take a few days to give several of his rules that you may find interesting.

  •   Every action done in company ought to be done with some sign of respect to those that are present.
  •   When in company, put not your hands to any part of your body, not usually discovered.
  •   In the presence of others sing not to yourself with a humming noise, nor drum with your fingers or feet.
  •   If you cough, sneeze, sigh, or yawn, do it not loud, but privately; speak not in your yawning, but put your handkerchief or hand before your face then turn aside.
  •   Sleep not when others speak, sit not when others stand, speak not when you should hold your peace.
  •   Be no flatterer; neither play with any that delights in not being played with.
  •   Let your countenance be pleasant, but in serious matters somewhat grave.

Come back tomorrow for more healthy rules from the father of America, George Washington. Get great fitness workouts, for a healthier you, with Horizon Treadmills. Whether you walk, run, or both, this will give you the exercise and fitness that your body needs to meet its day to day challenges. Check it out now: see you tomorrow.

Can Tests Detect Heart Disease

Tuesday, March 9, 2010

In a Parade Magazine article by Dr. Rant Mishori, ” Can New Tests Predict Heart Disease?”,it was stressed that something called a Risk Score has been used to determine ones risk of having heart disease. Various data is used, like age, sex, cholesterol level, blood pressure, diabetes status, and smoking history. From that information, they derive your Risk Score; the likelihood you will have heart disease within the next ten years.

Scientists now have discovered that several new blood tests, called cardiac biomarkers, will take readings of the various substances that travel in the bloodstream, which in turn may accurately predict ones risk of heart disease. If the person’s cardiac biomarkers are elevated, that may indicate that the subject has the presence of heart and vascular disease.

Many doctors who want to make sure that their patients are out of risk from heart disease, stroke, and sudden death, are ordering some of these tests.Consider discussing this with your doctor for further advice.

Seek A Positive Lifestyle

We need to look at the good and positive things more than the negative aspects that happen in our day to day living. If we count our blessings instead of our setbacks, then our days run more smoothly.

A great saying by Abraham Lincoln said that if we look for the bad in people, surely we will find it. As we keep busy, with a positive attitude, then the benefits will follow. Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “what lies behind us and what lies before us are small matters compared to what lies within us.”

We need to lose ourselves in something bigger than ourselves. ” The more you lose yourself in something bigger than yourself, the more energy you will have,” stated Norman Vincent Peale. Have a passion in life with what you do, for that is energy. Oprah said, ” feel the power that comes from focusing on what excites you.”

There are times in many of our lives, where we aren’t entirely happy with our weight. It is so easy to put on a few pounds as our active lifestyle gets us behind in keeping fit. Blending together exercise with healthy weight loss products, like Maqui Superberry or Botanics Choice, will assist you in getting back to where you want to be. Check it out here on our link then give it a try. You will be glad that you did.

Our Amazing Galaxy

Our galaxy, the Milky Way, is one of many galaxies that exist. Our solar system is a very tiny part of this immense area in space. We will share just a few tidbits about the Milky Way that will hopefully get you looking for more!

Our huge sun is actually a star that is one of more than 100 billion stars in our galaxy. There are maybe 200 billion, billion stars in the known universe. It takes light, which travels at 186,000 miles per second, 100,000 years to travel the Milky Way. Now that’s big!!

The star nearest to earth, besides our sun, is Proxima Centauri, which is 4.28 light years away. Light travels 5,880,000,000,000  miles in one year! The sun is approximately 93 million miles from the earth. It takes the light 8 minutes and 20 seconds to reach us. Our sun’s surface temperature is about 10,000 degrees farenheit and 27,000,000 degrees at it’s center.

Astronomy is really amazing with facts that make one believe that only a great and awesome God could create such splendor. Take some time to gather more facts about our universe and send them in to us for sharing.

For a fantastic energy boost as well as other health helps, take daily omega berry or omega berry fish oil, for added heart health.

Ten Ways To Enrich Your Life

If we make it a habit to be a bit better each and every day, we will reap the rewards that it bestows upon us. Here are a few ways, ten in this list, to enrich your life:

  1. Bring light into someone else’s life. Do something for someone else, without expecting anything in return.
  2. Remember that life is a gift from God. It does have meaning and purpose.
  3. Get some exercise and fitness. Walk often, get workouts, seek healthiness, and dance whenever you can.
  4. Don’t hold onto bad feelings, letting them fester. Clear up any misunderstandings with those close to you before bed.
  5. Have breakfast and dinner with your family regularly.
  6. Read each day; something inspiring and helpful.
  7. Take the time to enjoy nature. Take a walk in a park; watch a sunrise or sunset, feed the birds and enjoy them.
  8. Express your gratitude to someone. Make a call or write them a letter; or meet somewhere.
  9. Tell family members that you love them daily. Hug and kiss them.
  10. Give back. Volunteer or take part in your Church or a local organization.

Realize that in some way you influence everyone you come in contact with. Leave a legacy of great experiences. Is the world a bit better because of you and what you have done? If you influence even just one other for good, then the answer is yes!

Get that exercise and fitness each day with Tony Little or Total Gym. You can do it!! Regular workouts will produce the positive results that you want, but start right away!

Today it is a pleasure to pass on some of the advice, called Sage Advice, from Abraham Lincoln. These nuggets are timeless; as true today as they were in President Lincoln’s era.

You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.

You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.

You cannot help little men by tearing down big men.

You cannot help the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer.

You cannot further brotherhood of man by encouraging class hatred.

You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.

You cannot establish sound security on borrowed money.

You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than you earn.

You cannot build character and courage by taking away men’s initiative & independence.

You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves.

These words are very fitting for today and should be followed by each of us, especially adhered to by our elected government  officials. Pass this on to any that you feel would help make a difference.

Maqui Berry is a very high antioxidant supplement that helps promote better health. Read all about this in the link to our website that gives more information on it.

We are back with some more sayings, advice, and quotes to enjoy. Take time for an omegaberry supplement that is great for better overall health.

There are three types of people; those who make things happen, those who watch things happen, and those who wonder what            happened.

Most of us will never do great things, but we can do small things in a great way.

“When we seek to discover the best in others, we somehow bring out the best in ourselves.”  William Arthur Ward

Some cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go!

” Do you want to know how to make God laugh? Tell Him your plans for the next year!!”    Ted Sprague

Mini Tips With Single Parenting

Sunday, February 28, 2010
posted by Bill J 8:12 AM

Each one of us has a lot to juggle within our daily schedules. Single parents have a tough time balancing their schedule to fit in the needs of family and work. Here are just a few pointers that may help, especially if you are a single parent.

Seek to work around your children’s schedule. Getting up an hour or two before them will help you have some time for many of the things you need to do.  If you are a night person, then reverse that to night time. Many parents are moving towards a work at home career choice. That way you can multi task to get some of the home things done on your breaks that are necessary.

Work up a list of what must be done each day, and what else you would like to get done, time permitting. Many of us loose oodles of time with e-mails from numerous people and businesses. Handle those briefly, and save the ones that aren’t a priority for early or later in the day. Try not to lose too much time with things that take your time away. Spend your time wisely so you will have family time as often as possible.

Teach your children good characteristics and invest time with them. For many people, like myself, a vitamin supplement is helpful to fill in the gaps of the vitamins and nutrients that we miss. Omega berry fish oil is one of the several that I take from Purity Products, a leader in quality supplements. Give yourself that extra support that your body needs today.

Ten Tips To Follow

When there are ways to enrich our lives, we should make the effort to just do them. Life goes faster the older we get, so incorporate some everyday habits that will help both you and your family.

Do something for someone else, maybe even without them knowing it. Count your blessings each day, thanking God for them. Keep in mind the true meaning of your life. Get some sort of daily exercise: walk, dance, get those workouts! Don’t harp on bad feelings: release those and talk with others as needed to clear up those issues. Seek harmony with those closest to you.

Have breakfast and dinner with your family. Make those times sacred. If you can’t do both, do at least one together daily. Read as often as you can. Don’t just veg out in front of the television, read for at least a brief time-frame. Observe and enjoy nature around you. Each season has its own beauty. Catch a sunrise and sunset on occasion.

Take time to catch up with someone. Call, write, or visit as you can. Don’t be isolated continually or just doing work and home. Hug and kiss ones in your family. Tell them you love them. Make the most of your daily opportunities. Get involved within your sphere of influence. Make a contribution to the world.

For great health benefits, take co-q10 daily. Increased energy, weight loss help, cell protection, cardiovascular health, neurological health, and an improved metabolism, are some of the benefits you could be receiving.
